March, 2005 - Download as Word Document Dear Missionary Team Members: Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I’m writing you today to continue to update you on the progress of the Ukraine Mission. Also, I want to encourage you to partner with me in prayer and support if you have not already. My desire to be a full-time missionary is quickly becoming reality with friends like you.J My focus right now is obviously on “Friend Raising” while pursuing to move to Kiev, Ukraine this year. Therefore, for the next several months of my Monthly Newsletter I am going to include a link to the “Faith-Promise Partnership” form in this letter. Already, you are a prayer warrior, financial supporter, friend, or all 3 if you receive this letter; but I want to continue to give the chance to notify me if you haven’t yet. Allow me to explain a Faith-Promise to you. I heard this concept in college when I read about a successful pastor in Canada. Essentially, this particular pastor would promise by faith to support missionaries and God would always provide the money when it was time to give (either monthly or yearly). I know this may sound like I am reaching here…but let me tell you it actually worked for me. When I was studying ORU, making almost no money, I met missionaries on the field that I wanted to support. In 1996, I promised “using my faith” to support 2 missionaries at $20 a month. That summer when I got home an older lady came up to me and said, “I feel the Lord telling me to give you $50 a month”. How amazing was that??? - $40 for the missionaries, $5 for tithe, and I got a $5 bonus! The next year I promised $500 to missionaries in Africa. Just days before my trip back to Africa I still didn’t have the money. As I was explaining this fact to God, I walked up to my campus mailbox and there was a check for exactly $500 in it! God is Awesome! Thanks again for taking the time to be a part of my life and this ministry.
