My American Friend...John Johnson...pictured in this first picture with a "hot dog" - is going to ask his Ukrainian Girlfriend to marry him...Saturday, March 24th, (pictured in the next photo) which happens to be his 24th Birthday. He helped teach some business English to part of my group just a little while ago...and I have included pictures of that. Raya...Oleg's wife...was over to my house and helped tutor me in Russian from 1pm to 4pm...before English Club started...around 5pm. Then, she stayed to learn more English, etc. She will be one of the 5 other people that are going with me to Poland in a few weeks, during our Russian Class, spring break. Oh, I look forward to this Spring break like crazy...Russian has been unrelenting...but with much fruitfulness. I know now why it will take at least 2 years of intense classes to get a good grasp of this language...and they say up to 7 years to be fluent. This is certainly one of the hardest tasks that I have even undertaken in my life...much harder than learning biblical Greek in my college years...even Hebrew seems like a breeze compared to speaking this language in everyday life. Book learning is much easier...I can read and understand Russian much more than speak even now. Pray that I can pronounce this language...because people are not understanding me when I do talk...what I think is right. Anyway, enjoy the pictures...blessings, Rick out

This is the letter I received from a friend about the shooting at his business...if you want to help them you can:
I want to thank all of you for the calls and messages of concern and support relating to the tragic events that occurred on the morning of February 19th. I know there have been many reports and rumors spread by various news outlets and I want to help add some clarity to this most tragic incident.
On the morning of Monday February 19th, two of our employees and one dancer where shot in front of our club by and unidentified gunmen. The shooting occurred at 5:00 in the morning following a fight in the club. Our security staff worked quickly and professionally to break up the fight and quickly restored order to the club. All of the parties involved in the fight where ejected and the club was cleared. One of the ejected parties went to his car, retrieved a 9mm hand gun, walked to the front door and opened fire on two of our employees, Thomas Urbanski, and Aaron Cudworth. Aaron was struck in the arm and in the chest and Tom was hit in the body and his arm. Aaron escaped lift threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. Tom on the other hand, is now fighting a new challenge in his life, one of the bullets struck Tom near the spine creating enough trauma to his spinal cord that he is now paralyzed from the waist down.
I am deeply saddened by the events and extremely concerned about Tom and Aaron. If any of you feel so compelled as to want to help out Tom and Aaron, we are now accepting donations in any amount for our two employees. Please make out your check payable to either AARON CUDWORTH and/or TOM URBANSKI. I appreciate any help that you can give to their respective families.
