Ok - If I went into full details of my hunting experience on Saturday, November 18th - you would either laugh or think my luck is horrible.
However, I did - after shooting almost a box of bullets - land one. This guy was a jackal - and hard to bring down. Well - that's what happens when your gun scope is off (that's my story and I am sticking too it) - it shot low all day - by several inches - I hope to test it at a target and come back with actual facts - but When it shot low - instead of hitting this bucks heart - it hit the upper front leg. He ran fast and far, but stopped about 50 years in the brush - where I could only see his rear - I shot again, this time, taking out both of his back legs - so, with only 1 good leg...the real struggle began. I thought I hit his heart - and that he would die soon - so when I went in close to easy his suffering with my knife - he fought me with his antler - that's right - he only had one. The other antler was missing to my dismay - reminds me of the deer in the cartoon, "Open Season" - anyway...he poked at my several times - finally - I shot him again...6 times, in the neck - with my black power rifle - he still fought me - the "why won't you die" sentence was overused that afternoon. Then, I grabbed his one good antler and held him - as I cut this throat...it still took too long - but I did the last rites and sent him to deer heaven - I don't know if I am a very good hunter - but I was proud of my buck putting up such a fight - I think we should fight more when we are down and out - when's the last time we gave our all to survive? Sometimes just one thing small thing in our lives puts us down for the count - maybe there is a spiritual lesson in all of this bad shooting - well and maybe to just site in the scope a little more so next time they don't suffer:) But hey - this buck was running with 7 does - so - he was quite the tough guy!

Hey - Generosity, family church, and kindness has been found!!!!!!
Rev. Clark Peterson and his wife Sue took me out to a wonderful Chinese Buffet afterwards as well - knowing that I don't get Chinese food in Ukraine! It was a great time - I believe the Lord directed me to Eccl. Chapter 5:3-18 - where I spoke about not letting stress, salaries and other cares of life bother us - as we should be thankful for the GIFTS OF GOD in our lives - and that we can eat, drink and enjoy our families this Thanksgiving! Also, spoke about the mission in Ukraine - and the kid's projects, and they gave generously. So, thanks to them...and THANKS TO GOD for creating such wonderful, family oriented people. If you are ever in Reedsburg, WI - around 10:30AM on Sunday morning - do yourself a favor and join them in worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sorry, no pictures - I am getting sick of taking pictures...
Also, I plan to preach at Cornerstone Foursquare Church in Prairie Du Chien, WI - December 3rd - and I believe the start at 10 AM. Then December 10th - I am penciled in at the Lancaster Congregation Church and Bethlehem E & R - there in Lancaster, WI -
I travel this week to Dallas, TX - to spend Thanksgiving with my brother - I will get to do a little golfing - which Ukraine doesn't have yet - (correction - there is one place that you can hit a bucket of balls at for $20, in Kiev) - but for all expres purposes, there is no golfing in Ukraine. It's a pity - they have great land for it -and it would be popular - but alas...the government, the government - not easy to start anything new with them and their pockets:(
I fly out, December 14th - and arrive in Kiev, December 15th. First planned Christmas project is December 30th. Bless you and thanks for your support and care! Happy Thanksgiving!
